Advanced Standing Program

Recognizing there are individuals who have been employed in the electrical construction industry in a less structured environment who will be interested in applying for an apprenticeship, The Electrical Trades Center will grant on the job training hour credits to those individuals who provide documented proof of previous experience in the electrical construction industry once that individual is accepted into a program. Likewise, a pedantic placement test is available to anyone accepted into a program who wishes to advance standing for technical academics. Also students with prior college experience can request to have those courses evaluated to possibly meet some of the Associates Degree general education requirements.

If you're a construction electrician who has worked over 4,000 hours and you'd like to maximize your earning potential in this exciting field, The Electrical Trades Center is now accepting applications from all experienced electricians for their award winning apprenticeship. The Electrical Trades Center will provide you with:

  • On the job training credit for past experience. Using pay stubs, W-2s and other documentation, we will credit you for previous on the job training.
  • Academic credit for previous training, you will not have to start at entry level academics, you will be placed in a level that is challenging.
  • Structured wage and benefit package. You will receive wage and benefit raises when you achieve benchmark job hours, these raises are guaranteed by contract.
  • Tuition costs are paid by the industry. The only cost bourn by the student attending any of our courses is the cost of books and learning materials.
  • College credit for every Electrical Trades Center course.
